Presentation of IMO-IMOMEC

IMO is a research centre of the Hasselt University, located in Diepenbeek, Belgium and has a staff of more than 100 people.

Since July 2001, IMEC, the Interuniversity Micro Electronics Centre (Leuven, Belgium), created a new division, called IMOMEC, at the University Campus in Diepenbeek. At the same time, IMO became an associated laboratory to IMEC. Both IMOMEC (Institute for Materials Research in MicroElectronics) and IMO collaborate intensively. While the more fundamental research is carried out at IMO, applied research and projects in collaboration with industry are concentrated within IMOMEC.
The annual budget of IMO-IMOMEC was about 4,5 Million Euro in 2003.

IMO has a vast knowledge in the field of chemical and physical materials research.
The joint activities of IMO-IMOMEC concentrate on wide band gap materials, organic materials for electronic applications, precursors for nanomaterials, electrical characterisation and reliability, bioelectronics and physical and chemical characterisation.
